Roslyn Burmood

 CPM, LDM

Before becoming a midwife, I spent 17 years working in business and technology.  In 2011,

I felt called to midwifery and began learning everything I could. I spent years researching and considering taking a leap of faith to pursue this great calling: being with women and witnessing the birth of a child and the creation of family.

In the spring of 2013, I participated in a Dining for Women travel program to Indonesia that changed my Life!  In Indonesia, I met incredible women.  They were living their dreams to help others by creating and managing birth centers and medical clinics in rural and poverty stricken areas.  From that experience, I was inspired to take the leap, quit my job, and start pursing my dream of becoming a midwife.

In August 2013, I attended a doula workshop and during that summer and fall I attended midwifery pre-requisite courses.  Since 2014, I have worked and trained at two busy birth centers.  In addition to my clinical experience, I attended The Matrona's holistic midwifery program.

In the fall of 2017, I finished my training and became a Certified Professional Midwife and I’m licensed in the state of Oregon as a Direct-Entry Midwife.  As part of my license, and ongoing personal development, I regularly attend workshops and conferences for continuing education.

I have attended a number of Craniosacral therapy training sessions from the renowned Carol Grey.  I have learned so much from her and the workshops I've attended. I love seeing people and babies benefit from bodywork.

I am married and have a son. I am grateful to my husband and family, who support me and encourage me to live my passion and calling of supporting women and babies.  We live in Corvallis and enjoy spending time with family & friends. I also enjoy listening to podcasts, learning Spanish, hiking, and I look forward to travelling again one day.

While I take a pause from accepting new midwifery clients, I feel honored to be able to continue to serve this wonderful community with craniosacral therapy, postpartum support, and placenta encapsulation.
